Jesse Willie Olsen, 28. Our loving son, brother, uncle and friend, returned home to his Heavenly Father Sunday, Jan. 18th, 2009. Jess was born Feb. 7th, 1980. He is the son of Noland and Janet Olsen of Youngward, UT.
Jess grew up in Youngward and resided there throughout his life. He had the opportunity to work side by side with his father, grandfather and brothers on the family dairy farm that has been in the family for three generations. Even though he would complain about having to wake up to milk the cows and we practically had to drag him out of bed every morning, the farm meant everything to him. Up to the time of his death, he was still involved with his father and brother on the farm; he even had a new tractor he had just purchased that was his baby.
Jess attended local schools and was a 1998 graduate of Mountain Crest High School. He won numerous cattle showing ribbons in 4-H when he was younger. He was involved in Boy Scouts and was two badges away from his Eagle Scout. He had recently received certifications in the farm industry and had just completed his crane operating certification. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Jess was involved in many more activities throughout his life, but some of his most favorite things were farming, hunting with his father and brothers, fishing, four wheeling and just being with his friends. He was a sportsman and loved everything about the outdoors. Besides being outdoors and with his friends, Jess cherished the time he had to be with his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and especially his dog, Red. He loved being around children and wanted to be a dad some day.
Jess was usually the shy one of the bunch until he warmed up a little. He then was the life of every party. His sweet smile and beautiful “blue eyes” could melt anyone’s heart. Jess was the type of son, brother and friend that would do anything for you. He was one of the kindest and most caring people any of us knew. Jess was also one of the hardest and most dedicated workers. He couldn’t stand still and needed to be doing something on the farm or at work at all times. At the time of his death, he was employed by the family farm and by Vicars Trucking.
Jess was a very loving son, brother, uncle and friend. We cannot put into words how much he will be missed. We love you Jess and the day cannot come fast enough for us to see you again.
Jess is survived by his parents of Youngward, UT, 2 brothers: Tony (Julie) Olsen of Bloomington, IL and Rick Olsen of Collegeward, UT. 3 Sisters: Melissa (Matt) Petersen of Syracuse, UT, Amanda (Jimmy) Peyson of Wesson, MS and Alicia (Bryce) Vicars of Tremonton, UT. 12 nieces and nephews: Zachery, Tayler, Dylann, Kayly, Kexton, Kolton, Lauren, Liberty, Kamron, Aidan, Ethan, Ramsey and Braylyn. 1 great nephew: Kristian and 1 great niece: Mariah.
Jess was preceded in death by his grandparents: Beth and Ray Olsen and Ron and Eva Laursen. Brother-in-law: Kris Kunz and nephew Calvin Noland Olsen.
