Joann Udy Hansen

May 12, 1937 — February 16, 2022

Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully on Feb 16, 2022. Mom was born on May 12, 1937 in Tremonton, Utah to Newell and Hazel Udy. Mom was raised in Riverside, Utah.

Mom married James P. Hansen in the Logan Temple on Sept 28 1956, together they had 5 children. Our mother was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. She loved being a telephone operator at the Logan Temple. She loved going to the Temple and found great peace there.

Mom worked at the Budge Clinic as the Head Receptionist and enjoyed working there. She appreciated the camaraderie of the staff. She met many Cache Valley residents through this position and always had a ready smile for the patrons coming in. So many people knew our mom and loved her. Truly to know our mother is to love her.

Our father passed away in 1989 and mom was alone for several years until she and Howard Johnson met up again by chance and began seeing each other. They were engaged to be married when Howard unexpectedly passed away in her arms. Mom loved him and was grateful for the time they were able to spend together. He was a great man and we considered him family.

Our mother had a great love for her family, she treasured her grandkids more than life. They always made her day. After our father passed away the grandkids were truly the shining light in her life that she so desperately needed. Mom LOVED the Jazz and would often be found in her chair with the TV blaring the game. Mom had a sweet companion that was always at her side for the last 17 years in her sweet little dog Amber. Everyone thinks she loved Amber more than her own kids. Amber recently passed away and will be laid to rest with her.

Mom is preceded in death by our father James, Howard, her parents, sister Darlene, son-in-law Paul Klung, and her sweet companion Amber. She leaves behind her 5 Children Shari (Paul, deceased) Carolyn, James (Angela}, Lance (Valerie) and Jennifer. 12 Grandkids, Mindy (Chad), Mike, Hollie (James), Jeremy, Stefen (McKenna), Zachary (Molly), Alexander, Laura Kye, Christian (Cabre), Brecken, Brittney, and Jesse. 12 great-grandkids and 1 great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Feb. 24th at 11:00 am at Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah. Friends and family may attend a viewing on Wed. from 6:00-8:00 pm as well as Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the funeral.

Our family would like to thank the team at Symbii Home Health and Hospice for the great care they have provided for our Family. A special thanks to JoAnn’s nurse, Lindsay, for her gentle compassion and care she gave to our mother and for taking great care of all of us in the last few days of her life. We will always remember the care you gave to her.
