Joanne B. Stanger Lowe passed away peacefully at home with her family on June 23, 2014. Joanne was born on July 23, 1937 in Ogden, Utah to Glen and Selina Horrocks Stanger. She was the fourth of five children.
Joanne grew up in Marriott, Utah and graduated from Weber High School. She married her adoring sweetheart, Allen Lowe, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 28, 1955. Joanne’s family, including six children, 21 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren, were the joy of her life.
Her family will remember her extraordinary creativity and love: remarkable Easter egg hunts, exquisite Christmas packages wrapped with love, rose-decorated Valentine cookies, extremely supportive cheering from the bleachers, delightful family gatherings with delicious meals, beautiful oil paintings, countless handmade treasures, and touching poetry.
Make a memory from anything you can.
Fill your pantry with a lifetime’s stash.
Pile the rows deep and long and close.
Start with pint-sized ones and graduate them
till all stages are encased,
filling canisters with childhood, precious youth
and what wisdom you see.
Put up sweetness, humor, victory, and
don’t forget the teaching herb of pain.
Preserve all the images you can.
