JoAnne Leishman Hall Rasmussen, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on January 31, 2020. JoAnne was born November 5, 1934 in Logan, Utah to Russell N. and Dora Leishman Hall. She was raised in Wellsville and graduated from South Cache High School.
She married LaVar C. Rasmussen in the Logan Temple in 1952. They moved to River Heights in 1956 where they raised their family. JoAnne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had the privilege of serving in all auxiliaries of the church during her lifetime.
She loved being around people and enjoyed serving them as a receptionist in a doctor’s office, associate at ZCMI and as the Northern Utah Coordinator for Multiple Sclerosis Society. She received certification as a CNA and HHA and enjoyed working as a home health aide.
JoAnne and her husband served as officiators in the Logan Temple for five years and together they served an LDS mission to Nauvoo, Illinois. They enjoyed traveling to many interesting places of the world and made many trips to see their family members.
JoAnne could grow just about anything and enjoyed working in her yard but her greatest joy was her family. Each one received special gifts of her handiwork.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years; three sons and one daughter: Keith (Jan) Chester, OK; Paul, Brigham City, UT; Connie (Rick) Pitcher, Wasilla, AK; and Lee of Collinsville, OK; 16 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care JoAnne received from her hospice nurses and aides and for the compassionate service rendered by friends and neighbors.
A viewing will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the River Heights LDS Stake Center, 800 South 600 East, River Heights beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2020 with a viewing prior from 10:30 to 11:30. Interment will take place in the Providence City Cemetery.
