Providence, Utah; JoAnn Williamson Riggs, 74, passed
away on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Logan Regional
Hospital after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with
cancer.
She was born on July 10, 1930 in Paradise, Utah to
Vernon and Beth Bickmore Williamson. She graduated
from South Cache High School in 1948. She married
Louis Buster Riggs on February 7, 1949 in Las Vegas,
Nevada.
She was employed at Fred’s Flowers and retired from
J.C. Penney’s with 25 years of service. She was a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. She was a member of the Ladies Wednesday
Night Bowling League for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Louis “Bus” Riggs of
Providence, two daughters, Kathy Riggs of Providence
and Cindy (Jed) Cronquist of Thatcher, Idaho. She is
also survived by seven grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren, one brother, Don (Linda)
Williamson of Logan, and two sisters, Ruth (Bob) Sears
of Logan, and Gale (Gary) Kendrick of Nibley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son,
Terry L. Riggs, and a brother, Kay Williamson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on
Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Logan City Cemetery. A
visitation will be held at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary,
420 East 1800 North, North Logan, on Thursday evening
from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45
AM prior to services.
The family would like to thank the many family
members and friends who supported in her battle
against cancer. A special thank you to Dr. Ali
Ben-Jacob and his staff for their loving care and
friendship throughout Mom’s fight.
