LOGAN, UTAH - Jocelyn “Jocie” Garlick, age 15, passed away March 22, 2008 while skiing at Beaver Mountain, Utah. Third of four children, she was born October 8, 1992 at Logan Regional Hospital to Dean and Lisa Garlick.
Jocie was a freshman at Logan High School, and a proud Grizzly. She was on the Logan High Golf Team, enjoyed playing tennis, and was a member of the Touchdown Club. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and loved music of all kinds. She was an avid reader, and was very intelligent, exhibited by her 4.0 GPA.
Jocie was known for her vivacious personality and her brilliant red hair. She had a great sense of humor, infectious laugh, and beautiful smile. She is remembered for her kindness towards all, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She grew up skiing with her family and they skied every Saturday together. She was an excellent skier, and always wore her helmet. Jocie’s greatest passion was for skiing; she passed away while doing what she loved most.
Jocie is survived by parents, Dean and Lisa Garlick; siblings Cassandra and Bob Fawson, Dione, and Chet; Grandparents Max and Melba Fredrickson of Taylor, Utah, and Owen and Joyce Garlick of Farr West, Utah.
The family would like to thank all of those who have expressed their heartfelt love and condolences at this difficult time, as well as the Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a memorial fund in Jocie’s name at Cache Valley Bank, 101 North Main St. in Logan.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 27 at the Mount Logan Stake Center, 600 East Center St, in Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, March 26 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. in Logan and from 11:30-12:30 pm at the church prior to services.
