John Chandler Hoffman passed away on 20 April 2023, in Monterey California, following a short illness. He was born in Helena Montana on 17 January 1942 to Cap and Marjorie Hoffman after his Grandmother Chandler walked mom up and down the steep hills. John grew up in Logan where he went to Logan High School and then Utah State University. He received a BS degree in English and then was drafted into the Army and served at Fort Ord, California. While serving in the army he was asked to teach English at the army High school. Following his Army service, he returned to USU and obtained his Master’s degree and then returned to Monterey, California where he taught at Monterey High School until he retired. John enjoyed spending his summers each year coming back home to Logan to be with his parents. John loved his many dogs over the years. He enjoyed gardening and his beautiful yard brought joy to many who came to visit him. John was preceded in death by his parents Cap and Marjorie Hoffman. He is survived by his younger brother Tom, a nephew and 3 nieces and several cousins.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:00 at the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements by Allen-Hall Mortuary.
