John Logan

November 8, 1926 — January 13, 2012

John C. Logan Jr. passed away peacefully on January 13, 2012 in Logan, UT. His loving wife, Florine, of 64 years was by his side.
John was born Nov. 8, 1926 in Omaha, NE., to John and Fredriekke (Jensen) Logan. He attended school there until he joined the US Navy during World War II. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Omaha, where he met and married Florine E. Sprinkle on Nov. 26, 1947.
Woodworking was one of Johns many hobbies. He enjoyed making gifts of wood to give to his family and friends. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with his family. John was a jack of all trades; roofer, painter, welder and mechanic. He settled with the Union Pacific Railroad and retired in 1989. As a faithful member of the LDS Church he served many positions including Bishop of the Lake Wells Ward in Florida. After retiring John and Florine took great joy in traveling the United States visiting the majority of LDS Temples.
John was able to call Nebraska, Florida, Colorado, Pennsylvania and finally Utah his home. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Florine, daughters Sally J. Fuoss of Sac City IA, Brenda J. (Thomas) Russell of Logan, UT, sons John C. (Glenda) Logan III of Richland, WA, Roger A. (Becky) Logan, Sr. of New Castle, CO and stepson Alvin L. Morse of Fort McCoy, FL., 27 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers his daughter Judy Kay, two grandsons John C. Logan IV and Timothy G. Logan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday January 18, 2012 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, UT. Viewing will be from 9:30 am to 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
