North Logan – John Meatoga 84 passed away of natural causes June 7, 2010. Born May 3, 1926 in Laie, Hawaii to Muelu and Penina Meatoga . Married to Amelia Bergau Meatoga on April 9, 1955 at the Honolulu Tablenacle. During World War 2 he worked at Mokapu Marine Base at the age of 16 years old. He joined the Army in 1945. John served in three wars (WWII, Korean and two tours in Vietnam). He served in the Air force for 27 years. John was recognized by many community groups for outstanding services rendered. He served as Lions Club President and participated as a member of Makakilo Community Association, Senior Citizen Center at Kapolei and was Chosen King of Valentine Day by the senior citizens in Makakilo. He attended the Community College at the University of Hawaii. Received his B.S.D. in food service and worked for the Navy Civil Service.
Survived by wife Amelia Meatoga (Bergau); Son Jonathan Q. I. Meatoga (Katherine) of North Logan Utah; Grandchildren Maarja, Hokulani, Kauri, Penina, and Ikaika Meatoga.

Viewing will be held Saturday June 12, 2010 at 9:00-10:30A.M. at the church. Funeral Service 11:00A.M. – 12:00P.M. North Logan Green Canyon Stake Center. 1850 North 400 East North Logan, Ut. Gravesite Dedication will be held on Monday June 14, 2010 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park , Riverton Utah.
