John F. Peralta
Logan, Utah: John F. Peralta (Juan Francisco Crisostomo Peralta Rojas), 95, died on December 28, 2006 at the Williamsburg Retirement Community in Logan, Utah. He was born on January 27, 1911 in Mollendo, Peru to Mariano Peralta Paredes and Honorina Rojas Viuda de Nunez. He married Christina M. Reinl on September 16, 1948 in Wiesbaden, Germany.
John came to the United States to be a professional boxer and soccer player. He enter New York via Ellis Island and while living New Jersey became a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He became a United States Citizen on April 21, 1937 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He met his wife Christina in Germany at the close of World War II.
John served in the United States military for over 25 years, retiring as a Master Sargeant from the United State Air Force on August 9, 1966. John then worked for the State of South Carolina until his second retirement in 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Christina M. Peralta and one son, Richard C. Peralta (Ann); four grandchildren, Lydia C. Peralta; Samantha LaPine (Ryan); Nancy Collins (Corey) and Hugh R. Peralta; three great grandchildren, Mary L. Collins, Lily Ann Collins and Jack Ryan LaPine; one brother and two sisters, Daniel Peralta Rojas (Marcela); Lydia Peralta de Rodriguez (Alberto) and Zoila Peralta de Torres (Ruben). Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 in the Logan City Cemetery. Arrangements by Allen-Cranney Mortuary, North Logan, Utah.
