John William (Bill) McCarrey

RICHMOND, UTAH: Our loving Father, Grandfather, and husband passed away on December 9, 2006 at his home in Richmond Utah at the age of 79. He was born in 1927, in Logan Utah to John and Laura Rasmussen McCarrey. He received his education from North Cache High School, and Utah State University where he obtained a bachelor degree in social work. He married Dorothy Alene Worley on November 30,1962 in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 44 years together. Bill is the father of seven children, one daughter and six sons. Becky Godfrey, (Wayne) Clarkston Utah, Steven McCarrey, (Lyn), Elko Nevada, Sherwin McCarrey,(Andrea) Brigham City Utah, Joseph McCarrey (Teresa), Boise Idaho, Jeffrey McCarrey (Julie) Preston Idaho, Paul McCarrey (deceased) , James McCarrey (Jennilee) West Point Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a full time LDS Mission in the Southern States Mission. He also served in various other auxiliaries during his life. He was a member of the Richmond Utah Lions Club. He served in the Unites States Army during the Korean War. He and his wife operated a family business, Northern Utah Chemical Company for over forty years. He loved the out doors, his garden, and any opportunity to entertain with his guitar. He loved spending time with his daughter and his 5 five sons, their spouses and his fifteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, Worth (brother) Louise Bigler (sister) Paul McCarrey (son). He is survived by his wife, six children, their spouses, and fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday December 15, 2006 in the Richmond Utah LDS chapel. 150 S. 100 E. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday December 14. 2006 at the Richmond Utah LDS chapel 150 S.100 E. from 11:30-12:00 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery with military honors. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
