Jolene Purser Gilgen was born on March 10, 1933 to Joseph Purser and Bertha Clark in Logan, Utah and passed away on November 28, 2015. She married Joseph (Kay) Gilgen on July 8, 1953 in the Logan, LDS Temple. Her life was filled with love for her family, music, service and a firm testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. JoLene was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Her passion was music and passed that love on to her children and grandchildren. She studied Piano Pedagogy at Utah State University and taught piano for over 40 years. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, JoLene served faithfully in many church callings in her ward and stake. She served a full-time mission with her husband in the Tucson Arizona Mission. Jolene is survived by her husband of 62 years, four children (Carolyn (DelRay) Hobbs, Julie Ann (Doug) Darrington, Susan (Rick) Haviland, and Scott (Barbara) Gilgen, 15 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Lois Rae Burt and LuAnn Purser. The family expresses their appreciation to the many healthcare providers that attended to her during her long illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Logan LDS 10th Ward Chapel, 1550 E. 1900 N., North Logan, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 N., North Logan, Utah and at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to services.
