Jonnie Blackett Bullen, 95, passed away in her home on August 13, 2013. Born August 2, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Laurence Blackett and Florian Cazier Blackett. During her junior year at East High School, she met her lifetime love Charles William Bullen in English class. They both attended the University of Utah where Jonnie affiliated with Pi Beta Phi sorority. On December 6, 1940, Jonnie and Charles were married in Akron, Ohio. They had two sons and a daughter. Jonnie was a member of the Junior League of Ogden. In 1949, the family moved to Logan, Utah.
Family was an important aspect of Jonnie's life, and she was an excellent wife and mother. The family shared many travel adventures, and she and Charles visited several exotic locations.
Jonnie was a stylish-woman who dressed impeccably and had an amazing sense of color. She served beautiful meals to her family, and her children learned to eat unique foods. Jonnie loved to entertain friends with her usual flair.
She adored working in the garden and had a talent for arranging flowers. Jonnie was an avid reader and often read to her children. She was a great listener who would empathize with others without judgment. Jonnie was always more concerned about others than about herself.
Since her youth, Jonnie has been a sports fan. She would cheer enthusiastically for the Utah Jazz, and had season tickets every year for the Utah State University Aggies' basketball and football games.
Jonnie has had an indelible influence on her children and grandchildren, and theses positive traits will be imprinted on their lives.
Survived by sons, Bill (Marty) Bullen, Jim (Sherry) Bullen both of Logan, Utah and daughter, Sidney Bullen Dibble of Fruit Heights, Utah. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 2009.
The family would like to thank Lori Gines, Pat Sadouski, her longtime neighbor and friend, the staff at Community Nursing Service/Hospice and Caring Hearts of Logan for their compassionate care of Jonnie.
