Joe Carriedo Nunez, 89 of Lewiston Ut passed away at his home on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Joe was born in Michoacan, MX on October 26, 1933 to Estanildo Carriedo and Carmen Nunez He was the middle of three children, sister Ramona Gutierrez and brother Gonzalo Amezquita.

He married Rose Maria Mendoza on May 4, 1959 and together they had 5 children. Joe (Mary) Carriedo, Fairview Idhao. Julie (Rick) Tueller, Montpiler Idaho. Robert Carriedo, Cove Utah. Sylvia (Efrain) Tello, Layton, Utah. and Mona Carriedo, Salt Lake City, Utah, He also had 2 daughters Rosa and Joesphina Nunez from a previous union. Mom and Dad was blessed with 13 grandchildren Casey, Amber, Saul, Andy, Shelbi, Crystal, Britony, Belinda, Rocky, Patricia, Josh, Jeremy, Jonathon and 27 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Estanildo and Carmen; his wife Rose; daughters Rosa and Josephina and sister Ramona. He is survived by his 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 27great grandchildren.

Dad was a very hard worker. At an early age he left his home traveling from Mexico to the US as a migrate worker to find work to help support his family. In 2012 he became an US citizen and voted for the first time, which he was very proud of. Mom and Dad met in 1957 and began their life together in Meza AZ, later moving to Idaho and finally settling in Lewiston Utah where they raised their family.

Dad was a mink rancher for 36 years. After retiring he continued to work as a grounds keeper for Lewiston City. Throughout all this time he raised cows, pigs, goats and chicken and was the envy of the neighborhood with his amazing vegetable garden. He instilled the value of hard work to his children.

A public viewing will be held at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, UT on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 6 – 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at St Thomas Aquinas, Hyde Park, UT on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11 AM. Burial at the Lewiston City Cemetery after services. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed online to the family by going to www.allenmortuaries.com .
