Joseph Stanley Meyrick, 85, passed away on June 9, 2023. He was born on June 15, 1937, in Logan Utah, the son Joseph Meyrick and Agnes Valena (South) Meyrick.
As a young boy, Stan loved the outdoors and competition. He enjoyed roaming the west fields in Logan to hunt and fish. He loved the competition and comradery of all team sports.
After playing football and graduating from USU, he became an Army helicopter pilot and served in Germany. He was a proud Army Ranger.
Stan married Judith Ann Larsen on June 11, 1962. He came home for a two-week leave, proposed to and married Judith, and took her back to Germany where they spent two years.
After serving his country Stan and Judith returned to Utah and began a family and a career in business. Stan expanded a meat packing business into several others while Judith concentrated on raising a family. There was also plenty of hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and flying. Proud to be a member of the FOG (Fun Old Guys) group at Beaver Mountain, he finished out the 2022 ski season with over fifty ski days. As alumni of USU, and believers in education, Stan and Judith supported scholarships at USU and Bridgerland Technology College.
Stan and Judith are the parents of four children, Joseph Steve, Karen Jo Woolstenhulme (Dave), Judith Ann Moffat (Chad) and Rachel Chase (John), together with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Stan and Judith’s special needs son Steven passed when he was twenty-one and will always be considered their and the family’s greatest friend, who is mentioned in a loving way daily.
