Josephine Jessop Davis
Josephine (Jo) Jessop Davis passed away peacefully Sunday December 13, 2009. Jo was born March 23, 1934 in Green River, Wyoming, to David and Verla Jessop. She graduated from South Cache High School in 1952 and married Reid N. Davis on January 2, 1953.
Despite Jo’s many health issues, pain, and suffering she always maintained a positive attitude. She was always sure she would feel better tomorrow. Jo was a people person. She worried and cared more about other people than herself. Perhaps one of her most impressive qualities was her ability to relate to and empathize with people. She truly influenced many lives. Jo’s commitment, hard work, wisdom, and understanding of children’s needs and development were a huge asset as she helped to pioneer the “Head Start/Home Start Program”.
She had a great appreciation for the beauties in nature, not just the obvious things like a beautiful sunset, but the little things like a tiny flower or pretty rock. She loved camping with her family, taking walks, and hiking. Jo traveled all over the United States, but her favorite place was home.
We as a family are so grateful to her committed neighbors and friends who have done so much to take care of her and bless her life.
She is survived by sons, Gary (Cheryl) Davis, Paul Davis, Mike Davis and daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Call, 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Shirley ( Clark) Gibbs, Charles (Lou) Jessop, Evelyn (Gordon) Jensen, Ruth (Brent) Fluckiger. She was preceded in death by Her Husband Reid and son Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Providence 2nd Ward Chapel, 305 South Main. A viewing will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
