LOGAN, UTAH: Joyce Ann Erickson Denning, 62, loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother passed away Sunday April 24, 2011, at her home in Logan, after a long and valiant struggle with Scleroderma. She was born on June 19, 1948, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to Austin and Norma Tuttle Erickson. She was the third of five children. She married Steven Bradley Denning on Sept 19, 1968, in the Logan Temple.
She graduated from Logan High School in 1966 and Utah State University in 1971, with a degree in Elementary Ed. She was gifted and talented and could sew or crochet anything. She crocheted many beautiful blankets, blessing dresses and sweaters for her grandchildren. She was very kind, loving, charitable, and put others needs above hers. Her family was her most important accomplishment in life. She loved attending her grandchildren's dance and sporting events. She loved to celebrate holidays and was able to visit Disneyland many times with her whole family. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ and held many callings. She had a great love for her Savior and had a strong testimony of the gospel.
She is survived by her husband, Steven, daughters, Tifani (Chad) Williams, Logan, Tami (Brian) Jenson, Providence, Traci (Jake) Hall, Smithfield, Tori (Adam) Andersen, Logan; sons, Todd (Jill) Denning, Layton, Troy (Rachel) Denning, Logan, Tyler (Leslie) Denning, Logan. She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren who she adored and two on the way. Her mother Norma Erickson, Bountiful, sister Myra (Larry) Hendricks, brothers Barry(Karla) Erickson, Gene (Pam) Erickson, David (Betty Jo) Erickson. She was preceded in death by her father Austin Erickson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at the Logan Foothill 1st Ward chapel, 1450 E 1500 N, Logan. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
