Marion Joyce Jacobs, age 86, our beloved mother, sister, daughter and dear friend was awaiting the Savior’s call back home, which came on June 27, 2014. She passed away peacefully, retaining her cheerful love and abiding witness of the Lord. She was born on May 7, 1928 in Logan, Utah to Veva Ursula McClellen and Victor Christian Fonnesbeck.
She Married Heber Carl Jacobs on October 23, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and together they had five children; Stephen Carl Jacobs, Rhonda Jacobs (deceased), Reed Taft Jacobs, Care Jacour (deceased), and Annie Peck. Mother was a devoted homemaker and loved the years she spent raising her children. She also attended Utah State University. At a very early age mother had a deep love for music. She sang and played the piano throughout her life. She composed countless songs about life’s joys and her devotion to the Lord. In 1963, mother and father moved their family to San Jose California and resided there until 1976 after which they moved back to Salt Lake City. Mother had a wonderful, cheerful, loving enthusiasm for life and devoted herself to nurturing, educating and creating a fun, active lifestyle for her children. Mother loved her small dogs, the birds, flowers and the majesty of God’s creations. She was a friend to all who knew her and she was always there to help others with their needs and contribute her musical talents with many. She wrote and produced a play in Logan about the life of Harry Lauder. He was known as the greatest Scottish Ambassador during his time as a comedian and musician during the early 1900's. Mother had great faith and a deep and abiding testimony of the Lord which she would share frequently with others. She had two brothers and four sisters and is the last sibling in her family to pass this life. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed!
