Joyce Elfrena Kalanquin Rigby Jacobsen Puskarovich, 86, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away February 9, 2012 in Logan, Utah. Joyce was born In San Diego, California on September 26, 1925 to Harry Edward Kalanquin and Lillian May King Kalanquin. She was welcomed home by an older brother, Ray Bert Kalanquin, and an older sister, Lorna Lillian Kalanquin. Joyce enjoyed a happy childhood in San Diego and graduated from San Diego High School.
She married William Fredrick Rigby on April 12, 1945 in Gulfport Mississippi. They homesteaded a farm in the Columbia Basin of Washington State and taught their 5 children (2 sons, three daughters) the value of hard work. They were later divorced. She married Shirley Felt Jacobsen on June 30, 1976 in Logan, Utah. They were later divorced. She married Slavko “Jim” Puskarovich from Death Valley, California on August 8, 1990 in Beatty, Nevada. They enjoyed 21 years together. Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society in her younger years. She was proud of her pioneer heritage and loved family history, music and gardening. She loved the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and one daughter, Janet Lynne Rigby Maughan. She is survived by her husband, Jim Puskarovich, Logan Utah; her sister, Lorna (Lyle) Bunker, Delta Utah and children: W. Fred (Fayone) Rigby, Logan Utah; Anell (Peter) Godfrey, Salt Lake City Utah; Roxanne (David) Salisbury, Newton Utah; David (Lisa) Rigby, Boise Idaho and son-in-law Robert (Karleen) Maughan, Idaho Falls Idaho. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express appreciation to the faculty and staff of the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their kind and attentive care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Lundstrom Park LDS chapel at 1260 North 1600 East, Logan Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm February 14, 2012 at the Allen Hall Mortuary at 34 East Center Street. An additional viewing will be held in church from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary in San Diego California at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 21, 2012. Arrangements are being made by Allen-Hall Mortuary.
