Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Joyce Erickson Wyatt, passed away on April 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Joyce was born the youngest of six children to Eldon Russell Erickson and Grace Louise Barrus Erickson in Fairview, Wyoming on August 9th, 1939. Growing up she attended school in Afton Wyoming and worked on the family farm. While attending Utah State University she met James Bailey Wyatt. They married March 28th 1960 and raised 6 children. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple on June 29th, 2004. She worked for years as a waitress and cook and retired after 20 years working for the Logan City School District. After her retirement she volunteered at Wilson Elementary school and was an ordinance worker at the Logan Temple.
Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as ward librarian, primary secretary, compassionate service coordinator, visiting teaching supervisor, and primary teacher among other positions.
She is survived by her husband James Bailey Wyatt of River Heights, UT, her brother Ree Barrus (Patricia) Erickson, her six children, Brynne Wyatt of Rancho Cordova, CA, Brett Humphreys of Smithfield, UT, James E (Tina) Wyatt of Nibley, UT, Jason B (Janie) Wyatt of Taylorsville, UT, Jill (Scott) Williams of Minden, NV and Angela Martinez of River Heights, UT, two stepchildren, Martha (Steve) Vannote of Lemoore CA and Mark Wyatt of Pocatello, ID, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Marcia Faulhaber, Faye Louise Hall McKay, LaJette Johns and one brother, Eldon Joy Erickson. She was very much loved by her many nieces and nephews who thought of her as a second mother. She was the center of her large extended family.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2016 at the River Heights Stake Center at 800 S 600 E River Heights, UT at 11:00am. Viewings will be Sunday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 E Center Street, Logan, UT from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the church. Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery.
