Joyce Reynolds Miller

LOGAN - Although Joyce Reynolds Miller vowed to live long enough to be a burden to her children, she passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2007 at the age of 77. She leaves behind four children (Marianne, Dana, Rinda and Matt), 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Joyce was born to Bill and Theresa Reynolds in Wellsville on June 24, 1929 and attended South Cache High School, eventually graduating from adult high at age 65. She married Lyle Miller of Hyrum during World War II in the Logan LDS temple. They grew together, surviving life’s up and downs through 53 years of marriage. Her sweetheart, Lyle passed away in 1998.
Living most of her married life in Hyrum, she loved flower gardening, crocheting, reading, traveling with Lyle on the truck and later in their motorhome, and pestering family and friends. Her genuine love for people, sense of humor and laughter warmed the coldest heart and gave hope to friends and family alike. She accepted everyone, faults and all. Recently, Joyce lived at Pioneer Valley Lodge, where she befriended many special people. While there, her warmth and wit brought smiles to many residents’ faces.
She was a member of the LDS Church and especially enjoyed teaching children during her younger years. She also enjoyed her association with the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked many years of her life, retiring from Schreiber Foods.
Accepting the death of loved ones was always very difficult for Joyce. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons (Gordon and Sammy), both parents and four siblings (Edward, Helen, Rae and Thomas).
She is also survived by three sisters - Emma Harris, Edna Jensen and Rea Sorenson; and two brothers – Joseph and Carl.
Friends may pay their respects to Joyce at the Allen-Hall Mortuary (34 E Center, Logan) from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6th or at the Hyrum 11th Ward Chapel from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Thursday, June 7th. Funeral services will be held in the Hyrum 11th Ward Chapel (595 S 200 E, Hyrum) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7th . Burial will be at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
