Julia Iola Kent, a long-time resident of Lewiston, died Tuesday, February 19, in Mount Vernon, Washington, at the age of 96.
She was born on March 16, 1916, in Fairview, Utah, to Alfred and Julia Hurst Hawkins. She married Leo Merle Kent on October 28, 1935 in the Logan LDS Temple. Iola served in many Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society positions and served a mission with her husband in their home ward in Bellingham, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son James; sisters Rebecca, Phyllis, Edna, Edith; brothers Leroy, Lawrence, Clifton, Rolla, Orson, and Barstow.
She is survived by a son Michael Dennis (Mary), daughter-in-law Nancy (James), daughter Stephanie (Russell) Hansen, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pmTuesday February 26, 2013 at the Lewiston LDS Chapel on Main Street. A viewing will be one hour prior to the funeral services at the church. Arrangements are being made by Allen-Hall Mortuary. Burial will be in the Lewiston Cemetery.
