Julie Norman, 44, passed away peacefully, on Friday, March 18th, at her home in Paradise, Utah.
She was born May 17th 1977 to her loving parents Grant Norman and Linda Lee Dial Norman. Julie was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at 14 months of age and doctors doubted she’d live past her fifth birthday. She certainly proved them wrong! Julie enjoyed a happy childhood with wonderful parents, 11 siblings and a neighborhood full of relatives that loved her.
Julie enriched everyone around her by her faith, wit and kindness. Her testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ was her greatest strength. She paid a great price to know Him. She found joy and fulfillment in teaching others the Gospel as she served in various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Once, Julie took the opportunity to meet Sheri L. Dew concluding a fireside. After maneuvering her wheelchair to the stage, she was bold enough to say, “You said you wanted to meet a person who doesn’t have any problems, so I thought I would introduce myself.” Julie was a life-long learner. In her later years, Julie found great joy and skill in creating a variety of artwork and writing poetry. Her memory will be cherished by us all, knowing we will see her again, perfected and redeemed by her Savior, Jesus Christ whom she loved so much.
Julie is preceded in death by her brother Gary Norman, and her grandparents Myron and Annette (Obray) Norman, and Willis Aaron and Ida Geneva (Beckstrand) Dial.
She is survived by her parents Grant and Linda Lee (Dial) Norman, her sister-in-law
Angie (Batty)Norman, and siblings Paul (Pam) Norman, Nancy (Dennis) Olsen, Mark (Dianna) Norman, Janette (Scott) Rogers, Becky (Greg) Hendrickson, Linda Marie (Chris) Cloud, Bonnie (Ian) Harding, Malissa (Keith) Potter, Teresa (Benjamin) Jones, and Lisa (Marty) McBride.
In lieu of flowers, it is Julie’s wish that donations be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ Humanitarian Fund.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 12 p.m. in the Paradise 2nd Ward building, 9060 S. 200 W. There will be a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the church and on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Paradise Cemetery.
