June S. Olsen
June Mildred Skiby Olsen (90) passed away March 8, 2013 at the Cache Valley Assisted Living Center in Providence Utah.
June was born June 17, 1922, the third daughter of Sofus and Elsie Skiby.
She married George Fielding Olsen on.September 21, 1943 in the Logan LOS Temple. After they were married, they moved to Young Ward where George continued to farm with his family.
George and June raised four children in Young Ward; LaMont (Linda) of Panguitch, Utah,
Bruce, deceased (Sandra) of Sula, Montana, Gordon (Tami) of Stockton, Utah, and Shirlene Davis (Karl) of Nibley, Utah.
June has always been known for her beautiful handwork. All of her family members have enjoyed her beautiful quilts, hand embroidered and crocheted pillowcases and wonderful afghans. She also made beautifully painted ceramics for her children and grandchildren.
June resided in Young Ward until her husband's death in 1990, when she moved to Logan where she lived until moving to Providence in 2011. She was an active member of the LDS Church her entire life. She held numerous positions in the primary and Relief Society over the years.
June had four children, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. June is preceded in death by her husband; George, Son; Bruce, Parents and siblings; Alice S. Baron, Lily S. Cook, Hazel Skiby & Stanley Skiby.
The family expresses thanks to Cache Valley Assisted Living Center of Providence and Access Hospice for the wonderful care that was given their mother.
