High Creek, Utah: June Wilson Walker, our dear sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the age of 85 with her loving family at her side.
June was born on June 25, 1925 in Collinston, Utah, the daughter of William LeRoy and Libbie Richards Wilson. Her mother passed away when she was only three years old. She was raised by her very, very loving grandmother, Lizzy and her grandfather, Matthew Tom Richards.
She married the love of her life, Ray Heber Walker on October 5, 1939 in Honeyville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
Our mother’s first priority was her husband and children, always making sure they had everything they needed and wanted.
Mother knew how to work. She kept an immaculate home. She ironed everything in the house, even the sheets and dish towels. She bottled fruit and vegetables, one each for every day of the year. She made delicious jams. The most wonderful smells would come out of her kitchen of homemade breads and pies. She cooked three meals a day served with dessert and always a clean table cloth. She darned socks and patched levis. She sewed Darlene and Judy’s dresses. Their favorites were their Gingham checked matching dresses with ric rack around the bodice and bottom of the skirts and their warm flannel pajamas.
She loved her flowers, especially her roses. She grew a bountiful vegetable garden every year. She made beautiful crochet afghans and gave them to many family members.
We know she is in the arms of her sweetheart, our daddy, who died on October 10, 2010, just 7 weeks ago. June was also preceded in death by her infant son, Baby Ray, her parents, sisters, Althea Orme, Marjorie Baty, Vanda Wilson, a brother, Don Wilson and a half-sister, Gloria Phillips.
June is survived by her three sons and two daughters: Richard Walker of Denver, Colorado, Jack (Jo) Walker of Arvada, Colorado, Darlene (Bob) Hill of Smithfield, Utah, Kent (Nancy) Walker of High Creek, Utah and Judy (Val) Egbert of Logan, Utah, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a half-brother, Bert Wilson and a half-sister, Margo Murphy.
We love you Mom, because you first loved us.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services form 11:00 to 11:45 AM. Interment will be in the Richmond City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
