Karalee Stoddard Salvesen

July 11, 1947 — October 14, 2024

Karalee Stoddard Salvesen, with her family gathered about her, peacefully passed away in her home in Nibley, Utah on Monday, October 14th, at the age of 77. Karalee was born on July 11th, 1947, in Maddison Wisconsin to George Edward and Corinne Marie Pecora Stoddard. She spent the first few years of her life in Wisconsin and Iowa and moved to Logan Utah at the age of five. Her father had been hired as a Professor at Utah State University in the department of Dairy Science. Karalee had a very happy childhood and was especially close to her father. She graduated from Logan High School in 1965 and went to Weber State College where she earned her Registered Nursing degree. She was the oldest of five children.

In the summer of 1964, she met Michael Salvesen at Albertson’s Grocery Store in Logan, where they both worked. Karalee worked in the snack bar and Mike was a bag boy. After Mike’s mission they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on August 16, 1967. She had completed her education while Mike was on his mission. Karalee supported Mike through four university degrees, raised five wonderful daughters, and worked as a registered nurse for thirty-four years. She provided her home with an abundance of love, both for her husband and her children, and loved nothing more than spending time with her family. One of her favorite things to do was to make the largest and most delicious cinnamon rolls you can imagine. At Christmas time many of her friends and neighbors benefited from this yummy talent. Another of her activities, which benefited many young couples, was making hundreds of baby blankets. Karalee truly loved the Savior and showed this love by a long life of service to others.

Karalee served in many positions in the Primary and the Relief Society. She had a strong testimony of the temple. Karalee and Mike were blessed to serve a two-year ITEP mission in the South Pacific with their home base at Brigham Young University Hawaii.

Karalee is survived by her husband, Mike, Daughters, Shalise Doody (Kevin), Chantel Olsen (Hal), Michelle, Marne’ Davidson (Christopher) and Keira Dahle (Ryan). She has fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also living are her brothers and sister, Douglas Stoddard (Suzie), Steven Stoddard (Susan), Gary Stoddard (Nan) and Shauna Reeder (Robert).

At her request, there will not be a funeral. A graveside service for family and friends will be held in the Logan Cemetery on Friday, October 18 at 2pm.

The Salvesen family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the Community Nursing Services of Logan and Hospice, The Utah Nursing Honor Guard, and to the Cache Valley Threshold Singers. Also, we would like to give a special thank you to these individuals, Dr. Stephen Salisbury, Debbie Kimber RN, Stacie Shelton, and Sean Fulmer PhD.
