Karen Jeanine Olsen,
Passed away on September 11th, 2023 from conditions related to age. She was born on July 24th 1936 to Olaf and Rowene Tollefsen. Karen grew up in Murray around loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was introduced to her future husband Chris Olsen from Young Ward in rural Cache County by a mutual friend. They were married on August 18th 1955, and later sealed in the Logan Temple. Young Ward would become their home.
Karen raised six children as the wife of a truck driver. She sacrificed for many years for her family.
Her children always got new clothes and shoes before she did. She never missed a concert or event when her children were in school, doing the same for grandchildren as long as she was able. Her favorite time was Christmas, she would carefully select gifts for all of her children and grandchildren. She loved flowers and especially her little dogs. The many afghans she crocheted for newborns are family heirlooms. She had a wonderful, dry sense of humor, her family and friends loved her company.
Karen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a strong testimony of the gospel. One of her hobbies was reading the latest Church books and she loved to read the Church news every week, learning as much as she could about her Savior. She served in many Church callings including, Ward Relief Society president and Stake Young Women president. She loved everyone, especially her family unconditionally.
When her children were older she gained many friends working as a school lunch lady and later as a bank employee. Karen and Chris enjoyed their bowling league and camping with friends in their later years.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children: Steven (Teri), Chrysanne (Bill), Scott (Kathleen), Cheralynn (Ron) Melissa (Kreg), Mathew (Jae). 21 Grandchildren and 48 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters Yvonne and Arlene.
The family is especially grateful to Chrysanne, who provided full-time care for our mother during the last difficult months of her life.
