FOREST GROVE, OR - Karen Burnett Turner, 37, passed away in Des Moines, Iowa, immediately following an automobile accident June 21, 2010. She and her family were enjoying a cross-country LDS Church History Tour at the time of the accident.
Karen was born in Logan, Utah on Sept. 18, 1972 to Floyd J. and Carole W. Burnett. She married Timothy R. Turner, on July 30, 1992 in the Logan Utah Temple. They are the parents of six children.
Karen grew up in Providence, UT, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Reno, NV. She began school in Providence, continued in Fairbanks and graduated from McQeen High School in Reno, NV. She received a bachelors degree from BYU in Athletic Training.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother and super hero to her children. She enjoyed traveling internationally, spending time with her family, especially in outdoor activities.
She is survived by her husband Timothy R. Turner of Forest Grove, OR and children, Jessica, Emily, Dallin, Katelyn, Joshua and Megan Turner; parents, Floyd and Carole Burnett of Providence, UT, siblings Alan (Mindy) Burnett of Reno, NV, Roger (Aimee) Burnett of Littleton, CO, Ken (Cindy) Burnett of Phoenix, AZ, and Nathan (Anna Emily) Burnett of Preston, ID. Karen was preceded in death by her brother Matthew (Christine) Burnett of Providence, UT.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the Fruitland Acres Ward Building, 464 N 300 E, Providence. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, and prior to services on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.
