Logan, Utah: Karen Rae Thomas passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 11, 2007 in her home after spending an evening with her daughter’s family.
Karen was born in Barron, Wisconsin on November 4, 1934 to Ray Peck and Jesse Timblin. Karen was the younger sister of Myron Peck.
Karen graduated from Barron High School in 1953. Following her graduation she moved to Minneapolis , Minnesota and was employed at Northwestern Hospital . While at Northwestern she met Lyman Willard Thomas. They were later married.
Lyman and Karen had three children; Elizabeth, Douglas and Geoffrey.
In 1975 Karen moved her family to Logan in order to be close to the Logan Temple . She was hired at Logan Regional Hospital where she worked until the time of her passing. She loved working at the Hospital and had a great compassion for all people that she met and served.
Karen enjoyed working, loved being outdoors, hiking in the woods and mountains. She had a love for all animals and from childhood surrounded herself with pets. Karen especially had a soft spot in her heart for dogs and cats.
She was very proud of her children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her brother Myron (Susan) Peck of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, her children Elizabeth (Danny) Gill of Wellsville, Utah , Douglas Thomas of Logan , and Geoffrey (Janalee) Thomas of Rexburg, Idaho .
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2007, in the Willow Valley 2nd Ward, 825 North 200 West in Logan, with Bishop Roy Speth presiding. There will be a visitation prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
