Karl Pehrson

December 14, 1919 — March 6, 2012

MILLVILLE - Karl Alexander Pehrson, lifelong resident of Millville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in the American Fork Hospital. Karl entered this world on a stormy winter day December 14,1919. He was the fourth child and third son of Peter Aaron Alexander Pehrson and Katie Cecilia Jenson.
Educated in the Cache County Schools, Karl graduated from South Cache High School in 1938. He worked with his dad as a carpenter for the next few years. He enjoyed
attending dances in the various communities of Cache Valley. It was at the Dansante in Logan that his friend Walt Larson introduced him to a pretty girl from College Ward- May Anderson. They were married June 10, 1942, in the Logan Temple.
In November, 1942, Karl was called up and sent to serve in the army as a headquarters
clerk in 7th Anti-aircraft Artillery Headquarters Battery. He served his country for the
next three years, being honorably discharged in October, 1945, at the rank of Tech
Sergeant.
Upon returning to civilian life, he trained to be a dry cleaner. He worked at the Logan
Laundry and Dry Cleaners for the next 36 years, retiring in 1982. Never one to be idle,
Karl went to work for the LDS church in their physical facilities department. This he did for the next 11 years.
A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings. Two of his favorites were financial clerk (ten years), and as a temple worker with May (nine years). He also served his community as treasurer and councilman of the Millville Town Board for several years

Karl's hobbies induded playing horsehoes, carpentry, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed raising a large garden of com which he generously shared with friends and neighbors.
He and May were married 57 years. May died December 8, 2000. Together they raised
a family of six children, all of whom survive: Patsy (Dean) Garrett, Pleasant Grove;
Glenda (Vern) Roundy, Cedar City; Connie (Brent) Thomson, Sandy, Vickie (Randy)
Bott, Orem; Lamont Pehrson, South Jordan; and Rex (Annette) Pehrson, Millville.
Also, surviving is a younger brother Paul (Gwen) Pehrson of Taylorsville; 27
grandchildren and 68 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 at the Millville 5th LDS chapel, 360 East 450 North in Millville. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM at the church.
