She was born April 14, 1929, to G. Wesley and Ida K. Schaub in Morgan, Utah. She was raised in Logan the oldest of three daughters: Karen Schaub (deceased) and Barbara (Babs) Pingree (Hal). Karma graduated from Logan High School and received her Bachelors Degree from Utah State University later in life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith J. Nelson in September, 2007. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on August 11, 1949. Keith's career as an officer in the US Air Force, gave them the opportunity to live in many different areas of the world. They have four children: Kristine N. Faunce, Karen N. McKinnon (Todd), Kim N. Kohler (Mick) and Keith J. Nelson (Joni). They have 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Karma was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities for the church throughout her life. She is mostly known for her musical contributions. She sang in the dedicatory choir for the opening of the Oakland, CA temple and also served as a temple worker for four years in the Logan Temple. She and her husband served at the BYU Jerusalem Center in Israel in the early 90's.
She enjoyed being actively involved no matter where they lived. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Clerisy Club, the National Music Guild, and the American Cancer Society. She taught private piano lessons, enjoyed writing poetry and was a loving wife, mother and Nana. She will be missed dearly, and we celebrate with her, as she enjoys her heavenly reunion.
