SALT LAKE CITY, UT: Karren Joy Saunders Wilson, 69, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 in Salt Lake City.
She was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Logan. She was a daughter of Gilbert and Cary Saunders. She married William Edward Bassett on April 8, 1955. They were later divorced. She then married Thomas LaMar Wilson on Feb. 20, 1976. They also were later divorced.
Karren grew up on her father’s farm in College Ward and attended various Cache Valley schools. Her first marriage sent her tripping across America. She lived in many states, including California, Georgia, Hawaii, Virginia, and Washington. During this time, in addition to raising her 5 children, she found time to excel at softball and bowling. She eventually settled down in Cache Valley and found employment at Bourns and Saddlemans.
Survivors include her children, Bonnie (John) Hall, Mike (Roxie) Bassett, Peggy (Blake) Sharp, and Matt (Nan) Bassett, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also, her brothers and sisters, Karma (Glen) Waite, LaDon (Hugh) Jorgensen-Lyle, Reed (Bobbi) Saunders, Steven (Susan) Saunders, David (Margaret) Saunders, and Darla (John) Loveland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Susan Chugg, and two brothers, Gilbert Lloyd Saunders and Jack Saunders.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street in Logan. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday, March 2, at the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be extended to the family online at
