Kathleen Hurren May

October 15, 1927 — September 23, 2011

Kathleen O. Hurren May passed away on Friday, September 23rd at Logan Regional Hospital. Kathy was born to James H and Malinda Olsen on October 15, 1927. She grew up with 9 siblings in College Ward and graduated from South Cache High School. On March 17, 1947 Kathy married Clarence Bruce Hurren of Hyde Park in the Logan LDS Temple. They spent 36 wonderful years together in Hyde Park where they raised five children: Trudy (Randy) Oakeson, Jerry (deceased), Helen (Joe) Robinson, Melinda (Mont) Ringer, and Carol (Perry) Cartwright. Bruce passed away in November 1983.
Kathy now has 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom cherish the special times they have had with her.
In 1986 Kathy married Dean Brostrom. They lived in Preston, Idaho for 13 years where she made many life-long friends.
After Dean's passing, Kathy married Howard May. During their eight years together, they served two L.D.S. missions in St. George, Utah and Brisbane, Australia.
Kathy was a faithful member of the church, loved the gospel and was an example to all who knew her.
She is survived by her four daughters, brothers, Theron (Marge) Olsen and Dale (Faye) Olsen and her sister, Bonnie (Clair) Wickham.
Kathy is preceded in death by her dear husband, C. Bruce Hurren; her son, Jerry and by brothers Sid, Eugene and Neil (Carol) Olsen and sisters Wanda, Lois and Josie.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27th at noon at the Smithfield 10th Ward Chapel, 451 South 250 East with visitations from 10:30-11:30, prior to the service. Visitations will also be held Monday, September 26th, from 6-8 pm at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
