Kathleen Obray Earley

July 25, 1954 — June 16, 2010

PARADISE-Kathleen Obray Earley passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in Logan, Utah.
Kathleen was born in Logan, Utah July 25, 1954 to Wayne and Flora Obray. She married John Gibbs and was blessed with three children, they later divorced. She later married David Earley and they later divorced. She lived most of her life in Hyrum and Paradise.
She was employed by Utah State University for over 20 years, until she had to retire. During her employment at Utah State University she received the Classified Employee of the Year award, showing her dedication and work ethic. Working for the University gave her the opportunity to provide for her children's needs giving them many opportunities to participate in high school sports and eventually giving them the opportunity to attend college. She was often seen at her kids sporting events and doing what good moms do, driving kids here and there.
Kathleen had a love for things that grew and could tell you the name of just about any flower. She found joy in planting flower gardens and where ever she lived she quickly turned it into a garden of edan. In the spring her yard would become a miniature greenhouse and she would give away flowers to family and friends. If you ever needed a start for a plant or flower Kathleen would have it. Even after her health started to fail, you would still find her out in her yard planting her flowers and keeping her yard as beautiful as always. Kathleen also loved animals and always had several pets, which gave her joy especially as her health failed and she was home more.
Kathleen loved her grandkids and was always striving to emulate her mother, Flora in being the world's best grandma. Kathleen's house was a grandkids heaven and her grandkids loved spending time at grandmas. She was often found playing games, rough housing, having tea parties and doing whatever things her grandchildren wanted. She always made sure the grandkids laughed and enjoyed every minute at grandmas. She always made sure she had special treats on hand for when her grandchildren came and a diet coke on hand for her family and friends.
Kathleen always made the most of special occasions and holidays by decorating for each holiday and making it fun for the grandkids.
As her health failed her concerns were for her children's and grandchildren's welfare. In the last years of her life Kathleen made many new friends who helped her and served her including those in her ward family. The family is very grateful for these people. She was an active member of the LOS Church.
She is survived by her children Chris (Jodi) Gibbs and granddaughters, Madison, Emily, Katelyn, and Gracie; Corey (Gretchen) Gibbs and grandson, Tristan, and Becky Lindley, granddaughter Alyssa. Her mother Flora Obray. Her two brothers, Dr. John Obray, and Dr. Bruce (Margaret) Obray. Her four sisters, Jayne (Tim) Leaman, Rosemarie (Randy) Jorgensen, Susan (Kent) Moore, Julie (Craig) Schiffman. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Obray and a special nephew, Erik Jorgensen.
