On February 12, 2016, Kathryn Knowlton Cazier passed away peacefully reuniting with her husband, Doyle, her sister, Betty Jean, her parents, and many other family and friends.
Kathryn Knowlton Cazier was born March 16, 1929 to George Franklin Knowlton and Mary Watkins Knowlton in Logan, Utah. She was the second of two daughters. She graduated from Logan High and went on to Utah State Agricultural College (now Utah State University). She graduated in 1952 with a bachelors of science degree from the School of Home Economics with a double major in Child Development and Elementary Education.
In 1951 she married her eternal partner, W. Doyle Cazier, in the Logan LDS temple. Together they welcomed four boys. She loved her boys and enjoyed attending their sports events and other activities. As the family grew to include grandchildren and great grandchildren, her home remained the gathering spot. She was an outstanding cook and homemaker.
She loved to dance and travel. She and Doyle toured across the US, Canada, and beyond, often traveling with Betty Jean and husband, Norris. Of all the places, she loved none more than the parks in southern Utah and beautiful, rugged Logan Canyon. In addition, Kathryn was an avid walker, chalking up miles and mall walker honors; a talented crocheter making numerous, beautiful afghans for her family; an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and USU football and basketball.
A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in many callings including teacher, counselor, and secretary in the various organizations. She also enjoyed working and serving in the temple.
She was loved by all who knew her. She had a quiet, but deep influence on so many. Over her lifetime she gained much satisfaction and joy through her friendships and frequent visits with the elderly and shut-ins. She took in and cared for her mother and father-in-law in their advanced years. She was truly a latter-day saint.
She is survived by her four sons, Mike Cazier, Logan, Steve (Jill) Cazier, Providence, Scott (Jennifer) Cazier, Indianapolis, Indiana, Ron Cazier, Rochester, Michigan, and 12 grandchildren and 11.6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, and a grandson.
The family would like to express appreciation to doctor Michael Francis for years of expert care.
