Kathryn "Kathy" Wyatt

July 10, 1956 — April 1, 2015

WELLSVILLE – Kathy Kartchner Wyatt passed away Wednesday, April 1st due to a sudden, unexpected heart attack at her home in Wellsville.
Kathy was born in Salt Lake City on July 10, 1956 as the first child of Eugene and Margaret Kartchner. She was raised in Ogden, Utah and Seattle, Washington after which the family moved to Logan where she grew up attending Adams Elementary, Logan Junior High, and Logan High, graduating in 1975. She worked at Utah State University until she met and married her sweetheart, Dale Wyatt, on April 22, 1977. Dale and Kathy settled in Wellsville where they lived until her passing. They raised their family of six children there.
Kathy was the center of her family’s activities. They had a family get-together for every event that they could find a reason to celebrate. These activities were most often held in the family home in Wellsville. She was always the calming influence that held things together in what were sometimes very active events, and the family always came away feeling joyful in the great unity and love they have for one another. In the future, as such events still occur, may her family have the blessing of feeling her spirit in attendance to bless the occurrence with joy and happiness.
Kathy was blessed with the ability to create beauty in her handwriting, in her needlework, in the many quilts she created for her grandchildren, and the flowers she loved to grow for the benefit of all to enjoy.
Her greatest ability was to teach and set an example of promoting love among those she came in contact with. She especially loved her grandchildren, and up until her passing, her grandchildren followed her example by learning to love and be loved. She was filled with love for everyone around her and practiced nurturing every day – not only with her family but to everyone she met. In her extended family, she tried to attend every wedding, shower, funeral, and other family events to mingle with everyone and convey love and happiness. She was a happy person and never spoke any disparaging words that might impact negatively upon the happiness of others.
She was an active member of the LDS church and served in the Nursery, Library, Primary, Choir and Visiting Teaching Program. She was always there and could be counted on to respond to any calling or request for services of any kind.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Dale Larson Wyatt; her children, Jeremy (Amber), Heather (James Henson), Kurt, Jason, Melissa, and Dallan (Charlie) who all reside in Cache Valley. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; her parents, Eugene and Margaret Kartchner; her brothers, Kevin (Sandra) and Sean (Dianne); her sisters, Margene (Lynn Bowler) and Jayme (Richy Anderson); her father-in-law Doyle Hall Wyatt; and a stepson Christopher S. Gneiting (Pat). She was preceded in death by her mother-in law Roma Jean Larson Wyatt and a stepson Timothy Dale Wyatt Andrus.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 12 p.m. in the Wellsville Stake Center located at 30 South Center Street in Wellsville. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening April 9th from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E.
