Kathy K. Tucker, age 70, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020 due to kidney failure. She was our beautiful, fun, kind, and spunky Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She was born February 20, 1949 in Ogden, Utah to Melvin and Frances Kilfoyle. She was the third of five children and is now reunited with her parents and her younger brother, Kerri Kilfoyle. She is survived by her sister Judy Caulford (Edd), and two brothers, David Kilfoyle (Anita), and Randy Kilfoyle (Susan). She married Roger Tucker in 1968 and they had two children, Jakki Tucker Hansen and Jerrod Tucker. Later they divorced. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren who loved her dearly: Christian Tucker, Shelby Hansen, Makinley Hansen, Bridger Hansen, and Henry Booth. Her best friend for the past 23 years was Tinkerbell; the cat who brought her comfort, companionship, and love.
Kathy is a graduate of Ben Lomond High School. She was active in dance and participated in pageants as a teen. One of her crowning moments was winning first attendant in the Miss Ben Lomond Pageant. Her hobbies included snow skiing, waterskiing, bowling, golfing, and cooking. One of her favorite activities was camping and boating in Flaming Gorge with her family. Another favorite memory of hers was cruising around in her Monte Carlo. She loved life and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was very social (nicknamed Chatty Kathy), made friends easily, and was the life of the party.
At the age of 21, Kathy was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. This was a life-long trial for her. She found the strength to overcome many obstacles and was able to endure to the end through her faith in God and the support of her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her favorite calling was being a Sunbeam (3 yr olds) teacher. She loved the little children and loved sharing the gospel with them.
For the past 5 years, while living at the Cache Valley Assisted Living, she was often found sitting next to someone at church who needed assistance. The residents loved her because of her kindness and willingness to always help them. Many said she was the first person to welcome them to their new home. Kathy was very Christ-like and enjoyed serving others. She could often be found crocheting beautiful blankets for others while Tinkerbell sat purring in her lap. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Her life will be celebrated at a viewing held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary (34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah) on Monday, February 10, 2020 from 9:00-10:00am. A graveside service will follow at Leavitt’s Mortuary (835 36th Street, Ogden, Utah) at 11:30am.
