Kathy Skabelund Olsen

Kathy Lois Skabelund Olsen, 44, passed away peacefully December 31, 2005 of cancer.
Kathy was born June 18, 1961 in Logan to Wayne and Lois Schiffman Skabelund. She attended Logan city schools and graduated from Logan High School. Kathy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a keen mind and could remember dates and events. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for family members. She also loved to sew.
Kathy was a friend to all and especially loved to talk to people. She was a caring and generous person. She was always willing to give all she had for her friends and family, never thinking of herself.
Kathy married in 1985. From this union her only child, Shaina Lyn was born. She dearly loved her daughter and was so happy to become a grandmother in March 2005 when her grandson, Colter Wayne was born.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Shaina Lyn Olsen Buttars and grandson, Colter Wayne Buttars, her mother, Lois and five brothers, Dee, Brent (Janae), James, Martin (Shelley), Vernon (Linda) one half-sister, Kyrelyn Eldridge, and seven nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Skabelund, a sister, Connie, and a brother, John.
The family wishes to thank the offices of Dr. Ali Ben Jacob and Dr. Robert Harris cancer treatment and hospice care workers, Peggy Wolfley and Royilla Smith for their kindness to Kathy. We would also like to thank Vern and Linda Skabelund for their help with Kathy during her last few days.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 6, at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St, Logan. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM and prior to services starting at 10:30 AM on Friday. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
