WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Heber Kay Murray, 85, passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side at Sunshine Terrace on June 6, 2012. Kay was born and raised in Wellsville and attended Floradell Elementary, Wellsville Jr. High and South Cache High. Kay married Mardene Kerr Murray on March 24, 1948. They were blessed with four children. Kay was a farmer by trade and loved farming and raising dairy cattle. He made many lifelong friends buying, selling and trading livestock all over Cache Valley.
Kay held many positions in the Wellsville 2nd Ward, Bishopric counselor, High Priest group leader, Elders president, President of Sunday school, and also was a Scout leader. Kay also sat on the Wellsville City Counsel.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mardene, their children; Dennis (Joan) Murray, Marilyn Eliason, JoAnn (Dwight) Kirby, Sharon (Phil) Paro, 10 grandchilden, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Brother Melvin (Ina) Murray, sister Leta Ekins and sisters in law Allison Murray, LaRee(Mel) Orgill and Donna Kerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Heber & Jennie), sister Martha (Ivan) Glenn, brother Dean Murray, brothers in law Artel Ekins and John M. Kerr, son in law Thayle Eliason.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to Sunshine Terrace staff and caregivers for their compassion and loving care. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Wellsville Chapel located at 660 S 100 W. A viewing will be held Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Allen Hall Mortuary located at 34 E Center St, Logan, UT and prior to the service on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the church.
