Kay Blaine Partington

June 10, 1941 — February 15, 2011

Logan, Utah: Kay Blaine Partington, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home on February 15, 2011 due to a long battle with cancer.
He was born on June 10, 1941 to Norman and Lucille Partington in Logan, Utah. Blaine was raised in Logan and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a passion for sports especially football which he played throughout junior high and high school. He graduated from Logan High School in 1959.
On September 7, 1963 Blaine married his sweetheart Nila Vanene Lind from Lynn, Utah. They started their life together in Logan while Blaine worked at Morton Thiokol for a few years. Subsequently, he found a greater interest in his career as a brick mason which he continued all through his life. During this time, he co-owned and operated a small business with Jerry Fitting titled, “Fitting and Partington”.
Blaine enjoyed hard work and was known for his artistic rock and brick work. Nevertheless, Blaine’s parents instilled the ethic of hard work in which he has also passed this ethic on to his children and grandchildren. Throughout the years Blaine and Nila had five daughters in which one is deceased and named Amy Partington. Blaine loved his daughters and wife very much, and he worked very hard for them throughout his life.
Blaine was a survivor, and he will surely be missed. Blaine is survived by his wife Nila and four children, Teresa (Lee) Bowman, Salt Lake City, Utah; Brenda (Carnell) Erickson, Oakley, Idaho; Michelle (Britton) Banham, Garden City, Utah; and Jenni Partington, Logan, Utah. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by siblings, Delmer (Richard) Petersen, and Nancy (Mike) Stack. He is preceded in death by his brothers Norman Dean Partington and Boyd Thain Partington along with his parents Norman Partington and Lucille Thain Partington.
There will be a viewing held Friday at Allen-Hall Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In addition, there will be a viewing Saturday preceding the funeral from 10:30-11:45 p.m. The funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 325 Dr. Lauralin Drive in Logan, Utah.
