Kay Brown Andersen

April 15, 1926 — September 26, 2006

Kay Brown Andersen (80) of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2006. He was born April 15th, 1926 to Wilford and Dahlia Brown Andersen. Kay grew up and was educated in Wellsville, at South Cache High School, Utah State University, and Idaho State where he graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1948. He owned and uoperated Andersen Drug in Wellsville for many years. He also was employed at Logan LDS Hospital, and Logan Regional Hospital where he worked as the Director of Pharmacy for over 29 years.
In 1947, he married Donna Jean Guymon in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together, they raised four children in Wellsville. Donna passed away in 2002. He later met and married Margaret Williams LaPray of Portland, OR in June of 2005.
Kay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many church positions over the years. He served as the Bishop of the Wellsville First ward and enjoyed the associations of many members that he served with. He and Donna also served a mission for the Church in the Missouri Independence mission between 1992 and 1993.
He was very active in the Lions Club International – where he provided community and civic service in Wellsville for many years. He loved serving with the Lions and enjoyed flipping pancakes at the annual Founders Day Lions Breakfast every year.
Kay enjoyed life in Cache Valley. He was an avid Aggie sports enthusiast and held season Football tickets several times in his life.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Wellsville; four children, Teryl (Gordon) Bodily of Hyrum, Sherri (Lindsey) Preece of Hyrum, Kyle (Kristin) of Highland, and Melece (Vern) Williams of Meridian, ID.; two brothers, Dean of Scottsdale, AZ and Vern of River Heights; 17 grandchildren and 7 Great-grandchildren and many friends and associates.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 30th in the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 South Center Street, Wellsville. Friends may call from 6 to 8:00pm Friday at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 East Center Street, Logan and 11:00am to 12:00pm prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Wellsville Cemetery.
