Keith Thorpe Buist, son of Charles Alexander and Lois Thorpe Buist, was born November 7, 1948 in Logan, Utah. Keith passed away on February 5, 2020. He had a remarkable life despite a learning disability due to a head injury as a child. He progressed through the special education systems in Logan and graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield. He married Shirley Rindlisbacher in the Logan temple; later divorced. He worked in the housekeeping department of the Logan Regional Hospital for 33 years and developed special long-lasting relationships with the hospital staff.
Keith had an outgoing personality and made friends easily. After retirement he became a regular attendee at the Cache County Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed his association with his new friends there. After maintaining the Buist family home on 100 East in Logan for 15 years, he moved to Williamsburg Retirement and Assisted Living, where he passed away. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For years he provided a friendly greeting to members as they entered the chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts, uncles and cousins, who warmly welcomed him home. He is survived by his brothers Richard (Lura) and John (Karen) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Keith’s funeral service is under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary and will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel on 100 East and 200 South in Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
