Keith L. Dixon
Keith was born in San Ysidro, CA on January 20, 1921. He died peacefully at home in Logan on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
He received a Bachelors Degree at San Diego State and a Masters Degree and PhD at the University of California, Berkeley. He was on the faculty at Texas A&M University for 6 years, followed by a research station assignment in Carmel, CA. Keith joined the faculty at Utah State University in the late 1950's, where he remained until 1989.
Keith was in the US Navy during World War II, and during this time he associated with men who sparked his interest in ornithology and classical music. Keith went on to become an internationally recognized ornithologist focusing on titmice and chickadees.
Other areas of interest to Keith's were track and field, history, genetics and evolution. In addition to all of his accomplishments, He was known for his collection of friends and a warm, generous heart.
Keith was married to Martha Williamson Dixon (deceased) and is survived by his daughter, Melissa Dixon.
