Keith Warren Mcbride

April 6, 1919 — August 21, 2008

Keith Warren McBride
Keith Warren McBride, 89, died suddenly at the place he loved the most, his property in Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Thursday, August 21.
Keith was born April 6, 1919 in Hyrum, Utah, to Warren and Beatrice McBride. He was raised in Hyrum along with his older sisters, June (Bill, deceased) Andrews of Logan, Utah, Merle (Larry) Peterson, both deceased, of Hyrum, Utah, and brothers Clyde, deceased (Renee) McBride of Bountiful, Utah and Max, deceased.
Keith worked as a ranch hand for various ranches in Nebraska and Wyoming and helped his father on the family farm. He met Elda Riggs at a High School basketball game and was smitten. They were married December 20, 1938, in Salt Lake City. When World War II broke out Keith went to San Diego, California to work for Consolidated Aircraft and later at the Remington Arms in Salt Lake. Keith had a hard time staying away from Cache Valley and was soon back in Hyrum. Keith and Elda bought the family farm in 1947. Keith worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker but his real love was the farm. Keith and Elda purchased a small parcel of land in Blacksmith Fork Canyon and spent many hours and lots of work clearing thistles and planting trees making it the prettiest place in the canyon.
Keith and Elda had four children. Eldon (Connie) McBride of Shady Cove, Oregon; Neal (Donna, deceased) McBride of Nibley, Utah; Dennis (Madeline) McBride of Hyrum; and Suzan (Craig Reger) McBride of Nibley, Utah. Elda died August 21, 1986.
Keith married Cleo Jessen in 1988. They helped in the planning and construction of the Hyrum Senior Citizens Center and were recognized with the Distinguished Citizens Award. Cleo is the mother of Zane (Brooks) of Ogden, Utah, Janae (Ken) Lee of Millville, Utah, Georgiana (Douglas) Clawson of River Heights, Utah, Scott of Montpelier, Idaho and Rachel (Michael) of Franklin, Idaho.
Keith was called Grandpa by 11 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
A special thanks to the good Samaritan who stopped and gave assistance .
