He was born May 19, 1913 the son of John Henry and Vivian Affleck Kidman in Logan, Utah. Ken was a life long resident of Petersboro. He grew up on the family farm riding a horse to grade school in Petersboro and later catching the train to South Cache High School from which he graduated in 1931. On December 16, 1936, Ken took the love of his life Nettie Stuart in his 1929 Model “T” Ford to the Salt Lake LDS Temple to be married.
As a young man Ken milked 40 head of cows by hand both morning and evening and walked behind a horse and plow for $1.50 a day wage. Farming was his life and still on the tractor doing the farm work until he turned 93 years old. He also worked for the Pacific Fruit Co., Garland Sugar Factory, Shirley Jacobsen Construction Co., and Olson and Davis Construction Co.
Ken loved sports and was a champion baseball catcher and was sought after by many northern Utah teams. He was known to have ridden bulls occasionally and was always up for a good game of horseshoes or checkers. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, and especially fishing. The highlight of his recent years was his annual fishing trip to Alaska. Ken loved people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always good for a top-notch practical joke.
