August 15, 1948 — March 29, 2013

Kenneth E. Schwartz
Logan
Kenny, 64, died March 29, 2013 doing what he loved, fly-fishing on the Logan
River. He was born August 15, 1948, in Amityville, New York. He was the oldest child of Frances Kenneth Schwartz and Teresa Rooney Schwartz. He attended grade schools in New York and California and graduated from Lindenhurst High School in New York in 1968.
Shortly after high school graduation, Kenny enlisted in the U. S. Army and was
stationed a Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. He was trained as an air craft engine
mechanic. He served one year tour in Vietnam as a helicopter door gunner and also repaired helicopters. He returned state side on leave and was married to Patricia Reinhart on September 6, 1970. He completed his three years in the
military at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Upon his honorable discharge he moved back to
New York where he worked for Estee Lauder. Then, he spent the next 32 years as a Field and Line Repairman for Verizon Phone Company.
Five children were born to this union, Michael and Theresa, twins; Jeffery and
Kenneth, twins; and Joanne. He and Pat were kept busy raising their children. In
2003 Kenny retired from Verizon and on April 4, 2004, his wife passed away. He
then worked at Home Depot in New York to keep himself busy. It was here that
he met the next love of his life, Jennise Jones Brown. Three months later they
were married on January 23, 2006 in Lindenhurst, New York. This started a
whirlwind adventure of coast to coast traveling, cruises, Broadway Shows, and
moving to Utah. They built a home in Avon, Utah and lived there for four years
then moved to Logan.
Kenny loved the outdoors, especially the ocean. He was an avid surfer in his
younger days and late some of his greatest adventures were spent on his fishing boat "The Freedom" out in the ocean. In Utah, being a long way from the ocean, Kenny took up fly-fishing and loved it.

Kenny was a new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints
having been baptized July 16, 2011. He was a man of integrity with a New York
attitude. He was outspoken, funny, and always greeted everyone with
enthusiasm. He would always tell it as it was, but also would give you the shirt off his back. He had a great love for his wife, Jennise, and they became inseparable companions. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Jennise. Sons: Michael (Tara) Schwartz, East Northport, N.Y., Jeffery (Kristina) Schwartz Southaven, MS; and Kenneth Schwartz, Lindenhurst, NY. Daughters: Teresa (Jeff)) Weise, Mooresville, NC; and Joanne (Mike) GaMarsh, Lindenhurst, NY. Stepsons: Alex (Amy) Brown, Hyrum, UT; and Nick Brown, Centerport, NC.
