Kent Leroy Durrant

Kent Leroy Durrant was born on May 18, 1939 to parents Blenda Linnae Peterson and Everett Leroy Durrant. He was the only son with older sister Carol Ann Durrant, deceased 1958. He attended Murray High School, graduated May 1957, then went on to study at the University of Utah. His family lived in Murray across from the Murray High School for many years. Kent was known to be a high school athletic superstar and was drafted by the University of Utah to play football. He soon there after married his high school sweetheart Margaret Adele Strebel and they settled in Alpine, Utah. Three years later came Shanna Ann, three years after that, Shelly Adele, four years after that finally came his boys, Troy Kent, Dean Randy (deceased ) and Erik Ted. While raising his children, he built and designed homes throughout Utah.  He started his first business, Kenmar Machinery at a young age, building health equipment. After selling this business, he started a machine shop that he named Alpine Industries. He was highly regarded for his engineering prowess in building and maintaining military equipment. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, scouting, church, activities, and gardening. After retirement, he and Marge served an LDS mission to Palmyra, New York. In his 70s, he started Nebo Creek Orchard. Nurturing 300 Honeycrisp trees to maturity. His apples were renowned at farmers markets throughout Cache Valley. Utah State farmers market held a special place in his heart. He gifted many apples to students, friends, family, and ward members. 

Kent is proceeded in death by his Mother; Blenda Linnae Peterson, Father; Everett Leroy Durrant, Aunt; Victoria Peterson, Sister; Carol Ann VanHarten, Son; Dean Randy Durrant, Grandsons; Justin Tony Trinnaman and Braxton Durrant. 

Kent is survived by his Wife; Margaret Adele Durrant, Children; Shanna Ann Miller (Stan Miller), Shelly Durrant (David Funk), Troy Durrant (Janice Durrant), Erik Durrant (Lori Durrant). Grandchildren; Crystal Trinnaman, Holly Lake, Daniel Trinnaman (Mandy Trinnaman), Dallin Durrant, Colton Durrant (Brianne Durrant), Marijke Miller, Dawson Durrant (Takesha Durrant), Hayden Durrant. Great Grandchildren; Kaylynn Trinnaman, Justin Trinnaman, Kailey Trinnaman, Aiden Trinnaman, Grayson Mecham, Winston Durrant and Waylon Durrant.
