Kent Lee Selley, of Nibley Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 1, 2016. Born on July 4, 1954 in Logan, Utah to William “Junior” Leishman Selley and LaNice Anderson Selley. He was a 1972 graduate of Sky View High School. Kent then started working at Grand Central Department Store where he met and subsequently married Cindy Johnson Selley on May 3, 1974 in Logan, Utah.
Kent spent the next 25 years working as a supervisor at Wurlitzer Piano Factory and Mountain Farms Cheese, then lastly as a Quality Inspector at Morton-Thiokol. In 1999 he was medically disabled due to severe degenerative neck problems after multiple surgeries. Over the next 17 years, as much as his chronic pain would allow, he continued to enjoy the outdoors, his garden, spending time with his countless friends and traveling to see his granddaughter, Lily in North Carolina.
Kent is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy Selley, Nibley, UT, and his son, Jeremy (Victoria) Selley, Morehead City, NC, and his brother Steven (Faye) Selley, Fairview, ID, two aunts Arlee Teegan and Betty Anderson, two brother-in-laws Jarvis (Kristie) Johnson and Randy Johnson, as well as countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Junior and LaNice, and one sister Jolene.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center. A visitation will be held prior to services from 12:00pm to 1:30pm. Interment will be in the Millville/Nibley Cemetery, Millville, Utah.
