Kortney Elizabeth Gardner was born on September 17, 1981 to Judy Elizabeth Gardner and Larry Wayne Gardner. Kortney courageously jumped back into the arms of her Father in Heaven on Saturday, February 25, 2017, after a long battle with depression.
Kortney was born in Willows, Ca and grew up in Orland, CA. The first Gardner kid to be born with brown hair and brown eyes, everyone was smitten by her dainty, rose bud lips! She was very loved by her siblings. Many days were spent playing outside with her brother and best friend Grant. They fought incessantly and loved unconditionally.
Kortney graduated from Ukiah Highschool and soon after met and married Joseph Duke. Together they created a beautiful daughter, Aubrey Nicole Duke. Aubrey is the heart, soul and breath of her mother.
Kortney was a student at USU. She was an avid fan of the USU Hockey Team and attended quite frequently.
Kortney will be remembered for her heart of gold, fantastic laugh and her love of people. She was kind and had a special spot for people with disabilities. She worked as a care provider for people with special needs for many years- it was her calling in life to befriend the meek and lowly in heart.
Kortney is survived by her parents, Larry and Judy Gardner of River Heights, sister Koley(Michael) Rollins of River Heights, brothers Kevin (Angie) Gardner of Lehi, Grant (Angela) Gardner of River Heights, Geraldine Gardner of Orland, CA, and many nieces and nephews, and aunts and uncles. Thank goodness families are forever.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3 at the LDS Chapel located at 993 West 1000 South in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery.
