She was the mother of three children, Debra (Steve Wimmer), Jolyn (Patrick McDonald), and Scott Reeder (Sidney). She has 7 grandchildren, Marc, Benjamin, Alison, Melyn, Michael, Brody and Paige. She has 7 great-grandchildren and was expecting another in January.
Mom was a stay at home mom until 1969 when she accepted a position in food services at USU. She worked in food preparation and later was promoted to a cashier’s position where she worked for 28 years. She loved her job. She was loved by students and professors alike.
She was active in her church and held many different positions including Relief Society President and Primary President which she loved because she loved children.
She loved her home and was a good friend and neighbor. Her summer garden was always filled with petunias and geraniums.
The most important people in her life were her family. She had athletes, cheerleaders, pianists, dancers and scholars. She liked to attend all of their activities until her health declined. She always cooked the absolute best Sunday dinners.
After she retired, LaFaye and Corkey liked to travel with her cousin Kaye and her husband Harl. She enjoyed her yearly trips to see her California kids. She was always happy to take care of her local grandkids when the parents were away.
Her sister Marlene was her best friend.
Mom loved her family unconditionally and her sweet spirit will be missed by all.
LaFaye is survived by her husband, Martin "Corky" Reeder, sister Marlene (Lynn Lindley), her brother Dwight (Ruth Mickelson).
